I want to thank anyone who took their time out to listen to this piece. I started writing this in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic, with the first song being “GHOST.” I was in a transitional period of my life where a lot things started making sense, while some others didn’t. Mentally I was in a place of limbo, not knowing if I should keep creating, or call it quits, simply due to the fact of what I loved didn’t feel the same anymore. I felt like I was creating for the sake of competing and validation instead of self expression. This in turn made me reevaluate some things in my life and my art. I started asking myself, what’s next? What do I value? What can I add to an art that already has so much? Are my current values, MY values, or values of those around me? What can I do that’s “different”? In an industry saturated in clones and trends, is individuality enough? Friends I started this with started growing in different directions, I began to feel left behind. I told myself I’d “make it” by a certain age and my life would be figured out by now, artists I looked up to as they were God’s I started realizing were human like me. Everything I thought I knew was a lie. Everything changes and in order to change myself, I must grow past my experiences, emotions, and mindset.
